Re: GLBL - Inter-league Play Discussion

From what I read at the other website, it seems that the proposed schedule which would include interleague play is NOT even. If I have that wrong, someone please let me know. David provided links to two different schedules. The first schedule is balanced: 24 games/team vs. teams in own league (12H/...

Re: GLBL - Inter-league Play Discussion

Two 2-game series versus teams in the other league? You're really testing my aesthetic sense, there. I still think the best option is a 136- or 146-game season: 6 games vs. teams in the other league (3H/3A), and either 20/22 games vs. teams within ones league (either 10H/10A or 11H/11A). However, I ...

Re: Position Player Fatigue in GLBL

I do not have a strong opinion on the FATIGUE setting. Sure, let's raise it to AVERAGE.

Re: Do we allow Cash in trades? If so, any limitations?

I think that trades are good and that allowing cash encourages trading, and I agree with Rob and Al: no need for a limit aside from cash on hand.

Re: 2018 Inter-league Schedule Vote

I don't like it either, but it actually isn't unrealistic. It is, in fact, exactly what happens in real life. Since 2013 (when the Astros moved to the American League), all MLB teams play 19 games against all their division opponents, 6 OR 7 games against their intra-league, extra-division opponent...

Re: 2018 Inter-league Schedule Vote

No. I would like interleague play, but I do not like the uneven number of home/road games vs opponents in the other league. Besides offending my sense of order, it just strikes me as entirely unrealistic. (Why should my Toronto Maples only get two home games with the World Championship Milwaukee Eag...

Re: Debt Relief - DRAFT and Discussion

Rules can sometimes be counterproductive, and I think that this is a good example of that. These rules would allow a cynical GM to attempt to game the system by blowing the budget on free agents one year. Imagine a team that's near the end of its championship window—with key players about to go into...

Re: GLBL - Inter-league Play Discussion

When it comes to the MLB, I am firmly against interleague play. In the case of our league, I would be in favor of it. There are no rules differences between our leagues: no pesky DH rules to worry about. We have fewer teams than MLB and could keep a balanced schedule: every team in one league plays ...

Re: Age Limit for AA Level Ball

Mike's description of how this will work makes sense to me. Using Opening Day as the deadline keeps things simple.

As a side note, as the team with the most 23-and-under players, I'm happy to trade some of my excess youth to help other teams round out their Double-A rosters.
