Re: 2015 - A Year of the Pitcher

The issue I saw is that the 'defaults' in GLBL do NOT match the defaults a new league should start with, which is quite strange. Right. And that's a VERY significant issue. That's what I was trying to point out with the quote from the manual. The defaults should have been the actual totals from 201...

Re: 2015 - A Year of the Pitcher

Well, I'll be darned. Check this out (it's from this page of the Online Manual): OOTP generates a league total for each category, noted in the left column. The league total acts as the basis for the calculation engine. In historical leagues, these are the real league totals from the imported year. I...

Re: 2015 - A Year of the Pitcher

I wish I understood better how OOTP works, because there is something seriously weird going on. I wanted to attach the screen shot that Steve posted in the GroupMe discussion, but it's too large. To recap, the default settings for the league totals (presumably based on 2014 MLB totals) gave numbers ...

Coaches don't add anything to my enjoyment of OOTP, so I'm with you on this one.

Re: Sim Schedule 2016 - Dialogue

I like the 4-day sims. I also like having Saturday and Sunday "off". So my preference is we keep the schedule the way it is, but I'm sure any minor tweaking you do will be acceptable.

Anyone want a backup catcher for cheap?

Blaine Heller is currently rehabbing at Triple-A. He is eligible to return and has indicated he will not accept a minor league assignment. The Architects have decided to go with someone else as their backup catcher, so this effectively ends Heller's tenure with the Chicago organization. I can't tak...

I'm on board for allowing front-loaded contracts.

Re: Rules Update - Minor League Rosters - Draft

I assume you mean 12 per team, right?

I forgot that rookies will be all we're looking at from now on. So If each team can draft 24 rookies in the next two years, we have no problem.

Re: Rules Update - Minor League Rosters - Draft

I looked at the GLBL Player List and made a filter to include only 16-23 year-olds. There are 253 of them. That comes out to just over 21 per team, and it includes the recent international signings. So there weren't even enough of these players to begin with for every team to have drafted a full AA ...

(CHICAGO) Or... maybe you'll be interested in one of these other guys?

I'm still trying to move Thierry Arnould , as he's refusing to be demoted and he's taking up a roster spot I need for someone else. I'll let him go for darn near nothing (a non-promising prospect, in other words). If no one is interested in Arnould, I'm willing to keep him and move one of my better ...
