Age Limit for AA Level Ball

Here are the numbers for our rosters as of June 27, 2016 for players under the age of 24:

TC - 23
Ham - 29
Dul - 29
King - 31
Det - 31
Thun B - 32
Tol - 32
Chi - 35
O.S. - 36
Win - 41
Mil - 45
Tor - 48

So, the existing rule for maximum age of the lowest level states 24 with birthday date of July 1 of that year. I think we'll be okay based on these numbers but comments are welcome. What I'd like to do, if there are no objections, is change the date to April 8, or AA Opening Day. So, anyone 23 or under up to April 8 is good. Turn 24 on April 8 and you are okay. Turn 24 on April 7, not okay.

Comments and/or concerns should be left in this thread.

Thanks.

I think opening day is best, because that is when we would set all the various rosters. Having to worry about it mid season, adds complexity but no real value.

Thunder Bay has adjusted their roster. AA Whitby Kingfishers is now all 23 years and under.

Interestingly, the oldest player on that roster is one of my draft picks from this year. He barely is able to have a year in AA.

Chatting with Steve, the game should control this. BY that I mean July 1st won't be the date, the game will control the max age of 24, however this is how the game does it.

At the start of the season any player aged 24 or younger can be placed onto the AA roster. If any player on the roster turns 25 throughout the year they can continue to play AA level, however if they move to AAA after turning 25 they can't return to AA, despite starting the season/year at AA level.

Hope that helps somewhat.

Mike's description of how this will work makes sense to me. Using Opening Day as the deadline keeps things simple.

As a side note, as the team with the most 23-and-under players, I'm happy to trade some of my excess youth to help other teams round out their Double-A rosters.

Is it 24 or 23? Here it says 23.

Guess I'll find out eventually.

Intention is to waive the age limit for AA ball effective with the Dec. 8, 2016 sim. Serious objections can be presented below.

Thanks.
