5 Straight Wins for Waveriders
|
Owen Sound and Windsor duked it out and the Waveriders came out victorious.
The Owen Sound Waveriders beat the Windsor Vigilantes, 7-5, at Justice Field. Owen Sound left fielder Josselin Leroy had an outstanding performance. He was 2-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Gary Long picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Dan Peterson took the loss. Picking up the save was Rich Quick, his 1st.
Leroy had a game-changing double in the top of the seventh. On a 1-0 splitter from Dan Peterson, he banged a run-scoring double to right-center, giving the Waveriders a 6-5 lead. It was the 9th double of the year for Leroy.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Leroy.
The loss has the Vigilantes at 17-9.
