Vigilantes Down Caribou, 6-2
|
The Windsor Vigilantes topped the Thunder Bay Caribou, 6-2, in Canadian action at Justice Field. The standout performance belonged to Windsor pitcher and Alliance, Ohio, native Jason Sweeney. The second-place Caribou have lost 4 straight games.
The Vigilantes got an important contribution from second baseman Carlos Rodríguez, who in the bottom of the third punched a 0-1 cutter into left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Vigilantes ahead, 3-0.
"Slowly but surely, the wins are piling up," said Sweeney.
