Vigilantes Defeat Comets, 2-1
|
The Windsor Vigilantes got a magnificent performance from pitcher Dan Peterson, who muffled the Kingston offense en route to a tight 2-1 Vigilantes win at Justice Field. Jerry Powell earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. The North of the Border-leading Vigilantes have a record of 47-21.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when Windsor catcher John Dyke, facing Ralph Lapthorne, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Vigilantes the 2-1 win.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Kingston manager Kurt Peterson.
