Sea Gulls Hold Off Maples, 3-2
|
The Duluth Sea Gulls racked up a win at Ontario Ballpark, bumping off the Toronto Maples, 3-2. Kyle Bowles, who started for Duluth, pitched effectively for his team. In 6 innings, Bowles surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. With the win, Duluth raised its record to 58-52.
Matt Henry, the 37-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Henry contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Duluth up, 2-0.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Duluth manager G Maloney.
