Comets Top Owen Sound, 3-2
|
The Kingston Comets had to overcome a good performance from Owen Sound pitcher Dave Moss to claim a 3-2 win at Comet Field. Moss went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Ralph Lapthorne earned his 11th save in 13 chances. Kingston, now 60-77, holds down last place in the North of the Border.
Kingston took a 3-2 lead on Marty Gibbs's 6th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Gibbs hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Owen Sound pitcher Dave Moss visibly frustrated.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Gibbs, "and go after the next one."
