Holmes Hurls Bears to Shutout Victory Saturday, August 9th, 2031 Traverse City Bears starter Darryl Holmes really did a number on the Toledo Neptunes today, shutting them out 4-0 on 4 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 2 walks and had 6 strikeouts. "We didn't have good at-bats," Toledo manager Bill Atteberry. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Holmes."
