July's #1 USA Rookie Named Monday, August 1st, 2033 Yes, Talbot Philippe is just a rookie. But he is a special rookie. Today the 23-year-old Duluth starter was awarded the USA Rookie of the Month trophy for his standout performance in July. He dominated the rookie class, registering 2 wins and 3 losses in 6 starts with 19 strikeouts in 37.1 innings and a 3.38 ERA. Not bad for a first-year man. Up to now Philippe has recorded a record of 5-6. In 21 starts he has fanned 80 batters in 122 innings with a 4.35 ERA. |
