Bears Bond Stops Milwaukee for 300th Save
Monday, September 5th, 2033
Walt Bond of the Traverse City Bears pitched his way into the exclusive 300-save club today at The Nest by saving the 4-2 victory over the Milwaukee Eagles. In his historic outing, he surrendered no runs and 1 hit in 1 innings.
"Yeah, it can be a stressful job sometimes," the 31-year-old Bond told reporters after the game. "But there's a thrill that comes with being out there in a big situation every time. Hopefully I can close out a few more before I call it a career."
In his career Bond has totaled 300 saves.
