Maples Advance to GLBL Championship Tuesday, September 18th, 2029 Being named series MVP was little solace for Fu-chi Li after the Toronto Maples eliminated his Owen Sound Waveriders from the playoffs. Toronto won the final game 8-7 at Ontario Ballpark and wrapped up the series 4-2. "I couldn't care less about an MVP award when we don't even win," Li said. "I would rather have played terrible but still had a chance to win the GLBL Championship." Meanwhile, the Toronto clubhouse was alive with celebration after the victory, with the team's skipper Martin Abresch saying his team is "confident and strong" going into the GLBL Championship. The Toronto Maples don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Duluth Sea Gulls - Toledo Neptunes series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece.
