Great Day for Harris -- 5 Hits
Sunday, August 29th , 2055
Manitowoc Cranes second baseman Woody Harris had a day to remember at Sandstone Stadium, ripping apart the Au Gres Wolverines and sparking the 7-4 Cranes win.
Harris wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Harris told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Woody Harris doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
For the season, Harris is hitting at a .414 clip with 16 home runs, 66 RBIs and has scored 79 runs. He has 140 hits, 38 walks and a .478 on-base percentage.
