Traverse City Defeated By Caribou, 4-2
|
The Thunder Bay Caribou defeated the Traverse City Bears, 4-2. Doing his part was first baseman Joe Rodgers, who went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win went to Dorian May in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Jeremy Patterson took the loss. Quincy Cooper earned the save, his 1st, for the Caribou.
Rodgers had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch slider from Jeremy Patterson, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Caribou a 4-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Rodgers.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Jim Burns.
The victory makes Thunder Bay 8-9.
