Bond Smacks 5 Hits for Comets

Kingston Comets second baseman Scott Bond wielded a big stick against the Owen Sound Waveriders and his club walked off the field winners by the score of 8-7. Bond helped tame Owen Sound with 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Scott Bond singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and doubled in the 9th.
For the season, Bond is currently batting .337 with 4 home runs and 27 RBIs. In 52 games he has reached base at a .411 rate and scored 33 runs to date.

Inoue on Fire, Strikes out 15 Vigilantes

If you can't hit 'em, you can't beat 'em. That was the story at the Toronto-Windsor clash at Ontario Ballpark. Maples hurler Motoyuki Inoue gunned down 15 Vigilantes via strikeouts and beat them, 2-1. In a superb performance, he allowed 3 hits and issued 2 walks for the victory.
On the season, Inoue has a 13-8 record with a 3.92 ERA.

Detroit Thunderbirds pitcher Augusto González really got it done at The Nest in a 2-0 shutout victory over the Milwaukee Eagles, shutting them down on 1 hit.
"It was just one of those games where everything went right. I threw a lot of strikes," González said. "And the pitches they did get to hit, they didn't do anything with them."
The 36-year-old issued 1 walk and had 5 strikeouts in the Thunderbirds win.
