González Wins USA Player of the Week Prize

24-year-old Luis González sent shock waves through Great Lakes Baseball League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the USA Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, González made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .500 average, 12 hits in 24 at-bats, 1 home run and 7 runs batted in.
Where the Toledo Neptunes third baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but González certainly made his mark last week.
To date, González has collected 54 hits for a .286 average. He has posted 9 home runs, scored 29 runs and driven in 27 runs.
