Waveriders Collect 8-4 Win Versus Hamilton
|
Spencer D'Urberville left his imprint on the 8-4 Owen Sound win against the Hamilton Mounties. D'Urberville, who is tied for 6th in the CAN in stolen bases with 5, was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs. The winning pitcher was Jonathan Honoré. He's now 2-0. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits for the Waveriders. The Mounties fall to 8-12 and continue their uneven start to the 2053 season.
Andrés Rodríguez was 1 for 3 with a walk for Owen Sound. The slugging center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Joe Murdock. It was his 8th RBI of the season.
"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Hamilton manager Al Borie.
