5-2 Triumph Takes Toledo to 13-8
|
Toledo Neptunes starter Dwayne Miller turned in an exceptional performance against the Chicago Architects at Ballpark of Toledo, resulting in a Toledo win, 5-2. In 7 innings, Miller surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. The triumph makes Toledo 13-8, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2053.
Cole Burkett, who finished 3rd in the USA in slugging percentage with .531 in 2049, chipped in a 3-run home run for Toledo in the bottom of the first. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"Dwayne's stuff looked really, really crisp," said Bill Atteberry, the Neptunes manager.
