Waveriders Lose to Maples, 3-1
|
Toronto picked up a win at Ontario Ballpark, toppling the Owen Sound Waveriders, 3-1. Pitcher Júlio Castro was one of the reasons the Maples triumphed. Castro got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Castro allowed 1 run. Hervé Smart earned the save for Toronto, his 4th.
Toronto took a 3-1 lead on Brett Collins's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run came off Owen Sound pitcher Gary Long in the bottom of the seventh.
Castro attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
Toronto goes to 12-9.
