Marshall Shines in 7-4 Traverse City Win
|
Spirited fans greeted the Duluth Sea Gulls for their clash with the Traverse City Bears.
The Traverse City Bears topped the Duluth Sea Gulls, 7-4, with center fielder Ben Marshall playing a big role. Marshall went 4-5 with a home run and 2 triples, while scoring 4 runs for the Bears in the win. Jeff Seymour, now 2-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. Picking up the save was Ben Lee, his 2nd.
Edmond Kenner, the 33-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Kenner contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Traverse City up, 4-2.
"You can never predict what'll happen," Marshall said. "That's why you play the game."
The Bears, now 16-6, have hit the ground running this season.
