Bears Absorb 8-7 Home Loss
|
Samuel Amsden helped his team muscle past the Traverse City Bears, 8-7. In the game, the Chicago right fielder went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The win went to Neal Cormack in relief, making him now 1-0. Ben Lee took the loss for Traverse City. Pat Wright picked up the save for Chicago, his 2nd of the year.
Simon Lefevre came through with a big-time hit for Chicago. The shortstop smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 7-6. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Amsden.
The Architects, now 2-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.
