Parrel belts 2 home runs as Waveriders Squeeze Past Thunder Bay
Fans watched the Owen Sound Waveriders and the Thunder Bay Caribou fight to the finish.

The Owen Sound Waveriders defeated the Thunder Bay Caribou, 8-7, at Caribou Field. Leading the charge for Owen Sound was first baseman Pablo Parrel. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Walt Connel got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 3.

With Owen Sound leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Parrel hit a fastball from Dorian May for a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Waveriders ahead, 3-0.

"It was a solid team effort," said Parrel after the game.

The win puts Owen Sound at 13-11.
