Neptunes Lose to Thunderbirds, 6-1
|
The Detroit Thunderbirds downed the Toledo Neptunes, 6-1, at Thunderbirds Ballpark. The Thunderbirds were led by Karel van de Linde. van de Linde went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Losses have been few and far between for the Neptunes so far this season. Their record drops to 19-9.
van de Linde had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-0 splitter from Christopher Bouchard, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Thunderbirds a 3-1 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for van de Linde.
van de Linde expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
