Traverse City got a strong outing from William Charles as the Bears defeated the Detroit Thunderbirds, 5-0, at The Den. With the victory, the Bears upped their record to 21-9.

Traverse City took a 5-0 lead on Dave Steele's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Detroit pitcher Noriyuki Sakuma in the bottom of the seventh.

Charles called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
