The Toronto Maples racked up a win at Harbour Field, bumping off the Hamilton Mounties, 5-4. Ed Hale, who started for Toronto, pitched effectively for his team. Hamilton, at 16-17, has lost 4 straight.

Toronto used a well-timed hit by Steve Taylor to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Maples ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Toronto manager Linus Riverboat.
