Bears Win with Late Heroics
|
The Traverse City Bears racked up a win at The Den, bumping off the Toledo Neptunes, 4-2, in 11 innings. Walt Marcotte, who started for Traverse City, pitched effectively for his team. Traverse City is now 15-19, Toledo 24-10.
The decisive blow was delivered by Roger Geddes in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a 2-run home run off 35-year old left-handed pitcher Luke Mews to win the game for Traverse City. The home crowd went nuts.
"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Geddes said in his postgame press conference.
