Toledo Tops Kingston, 2-0
|
The Toledo Neptunes beat the Kingston Comets, 2-0, at Comet Field. Starting pitcher Lonnie Mason was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. The Neptunes now own a record of 15-20.
José Calderón, the 25-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Calderón contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Toledo up, 2-0.
"Lonnie is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Toledo manager Bill Atteberry.
