Bears Upend Architects, 4-1
|
The Chicago Architects got a superb performance from pitcher Paul Clark, but the Traverse City Bears still won the game, 4-1. Clark threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Alberto Espinoza picked up the save, his 2nd. The Bears, now 3-1, have hit the ground running this season.
Traverse City used the timely hitting of Edmond Kenner to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bears on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Bears manager Jim Burns, "I like our chances."
