Reddin at His Best, Blanks Prince Edward
Ed Reddin of the Manistique Night Train was on top of his game.

The 23-year-old tantalized the Prince Edward Seafarers with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 6-0.

"He had the changeup working," Prince Edward manager said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."

The Manistique hurler had 10 strikeouts, gave up no walks and surrendered 2 hits in his complete-game effort.

Reddin told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."

"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.

For the year, Reddin has a 9-7 record with a 2.56 ERA in 18 starts.
