Fans watched the Windsor Vigilantes and the Owen Sound Waveriders fight to the finish.

The Windsor Vigilantes topped the Owen Sound Waveriders, 5-4, in Canadian action at Justice Field. The standout performance belonged to Windsor pitcher and Springfield, Ohio, native Jimmy Burnett. Burnett, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks. William Treleaven earned save number 1 this season.

The Vigilantes got a big at-bat from second baseman Tom McNayr. For the game, McNayr went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Windsor a 5-3 lead.

"Jimmy was pretty good at keeping their guys off-balance," said Windsor manager Greg Erbisch.
