Maples Earn 2-1 Win Versus Comets
|
In a well-pitched game between the Toronto Maples and the Kingston Comets, pitcher Carlos Moreno was superb. The Toronto right-hander helped his team win, 2-1, in 15 innings. Toronto pitcher Steve Tait earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Joe Perkins suffered the loss. Toronto's winning streak has reached 5 games.
The Maples got a clutch hit from shortstop Carlos Gonzáles. In the bottom of the 15th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Maples.
"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Gonzáles.
