Thunder Bay Tops Windsor Again, 2-0
|
The Thunder Bay Caribou got a strong performance from pitcher Ming-feng Cong, who stymied the Windsor offense en route to a 2-0 win in Game 2 of the League Championship today. The Vigilantes could never get a bead on the left-handed Cong, who threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. The Caribou now hold a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-7 series.
The Caribou had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 2-0, Thunder Bay, with no one out. Windsor, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Mike McLeod dug in at the plate, but on a 0-1 fastball, he hit into a double play.
Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Caribou Field in Thunder Bay.
