Neptunes Win Streak Reaches 6

The Toledo Neptunes went home winners at Ballpark of Toledo, thanks in large part to starter Carlos Pérez. Pérez stifled the Detroit Thunderbirds, enabling Toledo to grab the 4-0 win. Pérez, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Luke Mews earned the save, his 12th.
Luis González dealt the Thunderbirds a blow in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Toledo leading 1-0, González, who is tied for 10th in the USA with a .397 on-base percentage, hit a 1-0 fastball for a 2-run single.
González called the win "a collective effort."
Toledo has now won 6 straight.
