Neptunes Snatch Late-Game, 4-3 Win
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Toledo Neptunes eventually prevailed.
The Toledo Neptunes locked up a win at Ballpark of Toledo, knocking off the Traverse City Bears, 4-3. On the mound for Toledo was left-hander Woodrow Butterworth. He played a major role in the triumph. The South of the Border-leading Neptunes are 32-14.
The decisive blow was delivered by Luis González in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off 30-year old left-handed pitcher Jerry Moore to win the game for Toledo. The home crowd went nuts.
"This place went bonkers at the end," González said.
