Comets Edge Waveriders, 2-1
|
Kingston beat Owen Sound on the strength of starting pitcher Ralph Lapthorne's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 2-1. The Comets, now 5-2, have hit the ground running this season.
The Comets got a big at-bat from left fielder Dan Olson. For the game, Olson was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Kingston a 2-0 lead.
"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Lapthorne.
