Mounties Walk It Off for 41st Win of Season
|
Hamilton turned a good performance from starting pitcher Sean Moore into a 2-1 triumph over the Windsor Vigilantes in 10 innings at Harbour Field. Wally Howard claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 5-4. Hamilton is now 41-44, while Windsor is 40-45.
The Mounties got a clutch hit from right fielder Wilson Meléndez. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Mounties.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Hamilton manager Al Borie said.
