Parrel Swings Waveriders to 9-4 Win
|
The Owen Sound Waveriders topped the Hamilton Mounties by a score of 9-4. Leading the way was first baseman Pablo Parrel. Parrel went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Waveriders. The Waveriders have a winning streak of 4 games.
Owen Sound used a well-timed hit by Jim Ashley to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Waveriders ahead, 7-4. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"We're playing like we're capable of," said Owen Sound manager John Meeker.
