Ruíz Belts 5 Hits
|
The Windsor Vigilantes stopped the Hamilton Mounties by a score of 6-4 at Harbour Field, with the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Charlie Ruíz. The 36-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Ruíz said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Ruíz did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Mounties.
"Not much that I can say," offered Hamilton manager Al Borie. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Charlie Ruíz doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This season, Ruíz is batting .287 with 5 home runs.
