Vigilantes Suffer One-Run Loss at Hamilton
|
Though he had a terrific game, Tom McNayr could not prevent his team, the Windsor Vigilantes, from absorbing a loss. Hamilton won the game, 5-4. McNayr was 4-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Hamilton reliever Wally Howard picked up the win, upping his record to 5-7. Jaime Torres absorbed the loss. Wilford Ferguson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 3 save opportunities.
Had Scotty Kreamer not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Kreamer hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Mounties.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Kreamer.
The current losing streak for Windsor has reached 4 games.
