Caribou Lose, 6-3, at Justice Field
|
Mike McLeod powered the Windsor Vigilantes to a win over the Thunder Bay Caribou. The final score was 6-3. The Windsor center fielder, who is tied for 2nd in the CAN in bases on balls with 46, was a force to be reckoned with. He banged out 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. Windsor reliever Marx Kila picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Yakumo Hasegawa absorbed the loss. The win puts Windsor at 59-47 this season.
The Vigilantes got a big at-bat from second baseman Carlos Rodríguez. For the game, Rodríguez was 1 for 4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 5th triple of the season gave Windsor a 1-0 lead.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," McLeod told the Windsor Bulletin.
