Bears Topple Comets with Late Rally
|
Kingston got a valiant performance from pitcher Ralph Lapthorne, but it wasn't enough to beat the Traverse City Bears. Traverse City won the game, 3-0. Lapthorne threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. The Traverse City win streak is now 3 games.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when designated hitter Pedro Morales, who finished 4th in the USA in hits with 162 last year, hit a single. The Bears went on to win.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Morales.
