Sea Gulls Capture Close Win
|
The Duluth Sea Gulls wiggled past the Windsor Vigilantes, 5-4, in 11 innings at Justice Field. The win was highlighted by the performance of Duluth shortstop Alejandro Escobar. The second-place Vigilantes dropped to 61-49.
Duluth second baseman Nathan Nash delivered a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th. Overall, he went 3 for 5, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and knocked in 2.
"It was a test of wills," said G Maloney, the Duluth skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
