Vigilantes Score Late to Nip Caribou, 7-6
|
The Windsor Vigilantes got a rain-soaked win over the Thunder Bay Caribou.
The Windsor Vigilantes beat the Thunder Bay Caribou, 7-6, at Caribou Field. Windsor second baseman Carlos Rodríguez had an outstanding performance. He was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Windsor reliever Ken Shannon picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Travis Baldwin was saddled with the loss.
Windsor used the timely hitting of Craig Hargrove to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Vigilantes on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Greg Erbisch, the Windsor skipper.
The win puts Windsor at 62-53 this season.
