Kingston Gets Another L
|
The Hamilton Mounties beat the Kingston Comets, 2-1. Hamilton pitcher and Tipitapa, Nicaragua, native Carlos Pérez led the way. The Mounties have a winning streak of 5 games.
The Mounties got a big at-bat from right fielder Wilson Meléndez. For the game, Meléndez was 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 23rd home run of the season gave Hamilton a 2-1 lead.
"Some games build character," said Hamilton manager Al Borie. "Like this one."
