Bears Rally Late to Nip Thunderbirds
The Traverse City Bears had to overcome a big game from Detroit center fielder Florent Bernier to leave Thunderbirds Ballpark with a victory. And they did, winning, 4-3. Bernier went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Kevin Davey, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2047 draft, was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-2. The losing pitcher was Arlen Sweet. Ben Lee, credited with the save, is now 4 for 6 in save opportunities.

Chang Ye came through with a big-time hit for Traverse City. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I felt good up there," said Ye. "I saw the ball well."

With the win, Traverse City raised its record to 71-65.
