Architects Fall to Neptunes, 4-1
|
Starting pitcher Dwayne Miller held up his part of the bargain, helping the Toledo Neptunes stymie the Chicago Architects, 4-1. Miller, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Toledo bumps their record to 63-73 with the win.
The game could have flipped with one out in the top of the sixth. But Dwayne Miller made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With runners on 1st and 2nd and Chicago trailing 3-0, Miller threw a changeup to Alejandro Colón and Colón struck out.
