Architects Drop Thunderbirds, 5-4
|
The 5-4 Chicago win over Detroit was due in large part to Samuel Amsden. The Architects second baseman was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Chicago now has a record of 73-63 with the win.
Amsden contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Chicago in the top of the third. With his team trailing 3-1, Amsden took a fastball from Tom Oliver and stroked the home run to center. His 19th home run of the season allowed the Architects to leap in front, 5-3.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Detroit manager Michael Vallery. "The effort was great."
