Bears Knock Off Milwaukee, 9-5
|
Traverse City and Milwaukee got after it at The Nest.
Milwaukee got a terrific game from right fielder José Aranda. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Traverse City, 9-5. Aranda was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Ben Lee got credit for the win, improving to 7-3. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings.
Traverse City used a well-timed hit by Gary Ford to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Bears ahead, 5-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Ford. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
The win for the Bears lifted their record to 72-66.
