Thunderbirds Lose By a Run at Traverse City
The Traverse City Bears did just enough to sneak past the Detroit Thunderbirds, 5-4, at The Den. Traverse City second baseman José Moreno, in particular, had a standout performance. Ben Lee, now 2-3, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. William Charles collected save number 2.

Had Michael Jackson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Jackson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Bears.

Traverse City manager Jim Burns said his team played a "no nonsense" game.

Detroit drops to 8-7.
