Olson Lifts Comets to 8-5 Win
|
The Kingston Comets and Thunder Bay Caribou completed their game despite the inclement weather.
The Kingston Comets downed the Thunder Bay Caribou, 8-5, at Caribou Field. The Comets were led by Dan Olson. Olson was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. The Comets have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 4th win in 15 games.
B.J. Fitzsimmons hit a run-scoring triple off Kevin Simonin in the top of the second, which put the Comets in front, 1-0. Fitzsimmons had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 4.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Olson told the Kingston Observer. "It's as simple as that."
