CAN Batter of the Month Honors to Nieto Wednesday, August 1st, 2035 Though his face is weathered and his hands are callused, Roberto Nieto can still get it done in Great Lakes Baseball League. The 36-year-old left fielder for Thunder Bay was named the Canadian Batter of the Month today after putting up an impressive performance at the plate. In July he batted .340 with 7 home runs, 23 RBIs and 21 runs scored. This year Nieto has batted at a .317 pace with 52 hits, 10 home runs, 29 RBIs and scored 30 times. |
