Benson Goes on Rampage Against Vigilantes
Saturday, August 18th, 2029
Today at Justice Field, Clyde Benson put on an impressive display.

The Toronto Maples center fielder tagged Windsor pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Windsor Vigilantes by the score of 12-11.

"The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Benson said. "5-for-5 ain't bad in any league."

Despite the terrific performance, the Maples manager was unwilling to offer his center fielder much praise, saying he holds his "whole roster" accountable for losses.

"Clyde told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Martin Abresch said.

Clyde Benson singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, tripled in the 7th and hit a sac fly in the 8th.

For the season Benson has hit .303 with 14 home runs and 46 RBIs. He has played in 105 games and scored 83 times.
